There’s nothing like gorgeous in situ images to spark interest in a new product range; particularly in the heavily visual world of interior design.
So with a new foray into the residential market, Australian/New Zealand carpet tile manufacturer Ontera Modular Carpets worked with Orion’s photography and design team to create a compelling visual story to accompany the launch.
Time to design: brochure, product folder and collateral
The product is premium, plush and Australian made, utilising new technologies for hygiene and cleaning and a deluxe cushion backing. These features needed to be highlighted visually as well as in the written materials accompanying the launch.
It is also a product that can be customised and can be laid in different configurations, so ‘creating spaces’ is a theme that is represented throughout the brochure and associated materials Orion created with Ontera.
3D rendering of images
Ontera supplied the floor layouts and our 3D partners Impact Multimedia provided 3D rendering of images to enable rooms to be created using the featured product along with other furnishings. A lot of work went into the texture of the carpet (to get a plush effect) and to get the lighting correct. The result was that a range of residential situations could be realistically depicted, as well as light commercial settings such as an aged care facility and a small bar.
Inhouse photography
Some studio shots were also organised, which allowed us to demonstrate the products’ different properties; such as the ability to easily remove, clean and replace a tile in the event of a spill.
InHome: Featured on Habitus Living
This new collection of flooring, titled INHOME, is currently featured on design site Habitus Living. Images from the brochure help give the article its beautiful appearance.

Product folder
For sales representatives and showrooms, a product folder contains the essential details about a product plus samples of the carpet tiles. The in situ images, information, graphics and logos were laid out across all surfaces for a visually inspiring presentation.
