Rebranding and website rebuild project for PDK Events
With a reach spanning Australia, the Asia Pacific and Japan, PDK Events is a recognised leader in the event management space. Always striving to exceed client expectations, PDK manage all aspects of an event with a superior level of professional service. Regardless of size or setting, PDK produce sophisticated corporate events, primarily for the IT industry, that exude innovation and style.
The brief
PDK engaged Orion Creative to assist with a mini brand re-launch to coincide with their move to a new office space. Their existing branding didn’t quite reflect their professionalism and level of expertise – and with a reputation for innovation and an impressive client list, PDK was ready for an overall refresh. The move forward from an outdated website to an invigorated and more professional look that aligned with their ethos was well overdue.
To best achieve the objectives of the brief, Orion first created a sitemap and wireframe to establish the framework for the new site, before finalising the web design concept. Less clicks equals easier navigation throughout a website and the Orion team focussed on the end-user experience.
The solution
A single page design was decided upon with separate tabs that jumped to specific areas within the same page – only Case Studies were on a separate dedicated page. Orion’s developers built the site in WordPress and the design emphasis was on a clean, fresh and modern look with Orion’s digital designers going for bold typography and large eye-catching visuality throughout the site.
Orion handled photography of PDK staff for the website, showcasing each employee’s personality so they could be portrayed as engagingly as possible. Orion content copywriters tweaked and enhanced the web copy to optimise written word engagement as well, yet ultimately the solution allows actual event photography and supporting imagery to do most of the talking. With the addition of animated components using parallax scrolling and CSS animations to enhance the visual experience, PDK’s new and improved site was born.
The response
PDK Events was delighted with the finished result. Their collaborative approach and clearly communicated vision ensured they ended up with a beautiful new website that aligns with their objectives. The branding and the site rebuild now reflects the company’s vibrant culture and capabilities.
